FAQs

Here are some answers to common questions we receive:

  • Do I need a diagnosis before I come in?

No. Come with the problem as you live it. Names can wait.

  • Can you see children under 13?

This practice focuses on ages 13 and up. We can help you find a pediatric clinician for younger children.

  • Can you prescribe medication?

Yes. Kelly is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and manages psychiatric medications when they are

    appropriate.

  • Is telehealth available outside Lexington?

Yes, as long as you are physically in Kentucky at the time of the visit.

  • What is concierge care?

More access to the same clinician: priority scheduling, longer visits when needed, and closer follow-up. We

explain cost before you opt in.

  • Do you treat substance abuse and mental health together?

Yes. That is common here, not an exception.

  • What if I am in crisis?

Call 911 or go to an emergency department. You can also call or text 988. Our clinic is not a 24-hour crisis center.

What to Expect...

  1. Request an appointment online or call.  Tell us whether you want the office, video, or to hear about concierge therapy.
  2. We check insurance or quote self-pay.
  3. You complete secure intake forms (HIPAA-protected).
  4. First visit: history, goals, initial plan.
  5. Follow-up is scheduled before you leave so care does not fall through the cracks.

Please bring: photo ID, insurance card, a list of medicines and doses, and any recent hospital or lab paperwork you have.

If you are a parent scheduling for a teen, the teen should know the appointment is happening. Surprise first visits rarely go well.

Insurance, Fees and How to Pay

Check your insurance.  Ask us anything that is still unclear.

Many people delay care because they cannot tell what a visit will cost.  We would rather have that conversation before you book.

Plans we commonly accept:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem / Elevance
  • Blue Cross / Blue Shield
  • CareSource
  • Cigna / Evernorth
  • Humana
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid / Kentucky Medicaid plans
  • Molina
  • Optum / UnitedHealthcare / UMR / UBH
  • Tricare
  • Wellcare

Insurance networks and authorizations change. We confirm coverage before your first visit whenever we can. You are still responsible for copays, deductibles, and non-covered services. Concierge services may include fees that insurance does not pay.

If you are paying on your own

Self-pay is available.  We can provide a superbill if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.

Good-faith estimate

If you are uninsured or self-pay, federal rules entitle you to a good-faith estimate of expected charges.  Ask us and we will provide one.
